IT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT
While doing a puzzle “word find”
Another dimension came to mind…
A summer afternoon
In a screened-in porch room,
Doing puzzles to pass the time.
–
It felt like being in a cottage,
Well-deserved vacation work stoppage…
In the soft summer air
I relaxed there,
In the stove inside simmered pottage.
–
Split-second–I was back at a desk,
At work trying my best…
To not fall asleep
Until my turn to keep,
My walking round in safety vest!
–
In truth we had visited “our” land,
That the bank now owns to command…
One-half we are owed
By a developer who showed,
Us half up front, cash in hand.
