REDHEADS LATELY?

REDHEADS LATELY?

Haven’t written about redheads lately,

Not that they don’t come to mind…

Their still the ones I admire greatly

And make friends with any I can find.

One or two subscribe to my poetry

While others follow here…

Whoever they are, wherever they come from,

I think of them as dear.

If I don’t write as often about you

Please do not get mad…

In my own limited way I love you,

The best friends I’ve ever had.*

(*Except my wife…of course!!!)

AROUND THE MOUNTAIN AGAIN!

AROUND THE MOUNTAIN AGAIN!

A John Hagee sermon once heard*

Describes what I am to the word…

A mountain go-’round

To familiar ground,

Until I learn how to “ride herd”.

I really don’t want to face

Spoiled brats in my workplace…

They keep coming

And I keep bumming,

Correcting them with authoritative grace.

The latest refused to do

As required to…

Tonight he can’t play

The usual way,

If he wants a good job reference, too!

ROYAL JELLY IN THE BELLY!

ROYAL JELLY IN THE BELLY

On “Marilyn and Sarah,”*

Their guest was a declarer…

Of suppliments

And nutrients,

To make a woman sparer.

Dr. Janet Macaro*

Says don’t wait til tomorrow…

A lady’s health

Is worth the wealth,

To prevent further sorrow.

The products of bees

Work for us to prevent disease…

Royal bee jelly

Capsules in the belly,

Are taken to fight much more than a sneeze.

When I tire of blood-letting

And news crisis vetting…

I turn the radio silent

Until I find less violent

Music worth the getting.

Driving home after midnight,

I try not to think of spite…

Double-yew-see-yew-double yew

Has the music brew

To get me home all right.

NEAR THE END OF THE…

Driving north this morning

Along (Rte.) One forty-six,

I saw a lovely rainbow

The ends to drive betwixt…

I drove around a corner,

One end was close at hand:

I’d never been that close before

To where the rainbow lands!

I couldn’t stop to check the woody

Roadside where the rainbow went,

I didn’t see leprechauns

(Perhaps the gold was spent)…

As soon as I drove underneath

The car was hit with spray

From the next storm front to hit…

The rainbow went away!
