NOT OLD ENOUGH

NOT OLD ENOUGH

She didn’t mind looking and talking,

With residents who were by-walking…

She brightened their day

Letting them talk away,

Those thoughts and mem’ries uncaulking.

But one man apparently too

Young to minister to…

Fell into a hole,

Was put on parole

‘Cause he wanted to follow through.

He caught himself in time,

To apologize for no crime…

But he is aware

Of temptation there,

Visiting less is his fine.

He’s saddened by his social loss,

But it wasn’t worth the cost…

Of crossing the line,

He will miss the time

Of hob-nobbing with hot sauce!
