The smallest of gestures

Kristen Hope Mazzola

Sorting through these breathless sounds

The ones the escape without warning

Those are where the truth lies

Unwanted and undetected

Flying ever so slowly into the light

Everything is real and waiting

Just needing to be wanted barely enough

A spark of perfection

Hovering under your skin

Shallow and simple

Pushing just enough inward

There is so much depth within a gentle touch

The smallest of gestures holds the most meaning

Keep them close

Not letting them go
