A “LITTLE” ABSENT-MINDED?

A “LITTLE” ABSENT-MINDED???

What a weird sensation to feel,

Having more time than needed to deal…

An appointment at ten,

Got up way before then

And felt foolish by his own zeal.

Eight-thirty-thirteen was the day,

He thought eight-thirty okay…

As a time to be there

But was unaware

In bed two more hours he could stay.

The real time was after ten,

He mixed up the numbers and then…

Discovered his crime

At the earlier time,

Got an hour’s more sleep in the end.

Goodbye Summer, See You Next Year

ISN’T IT SOOOO COMFORTING TO HAVE A CAT FOLLOW YOU AROUND (OR SOMEBODY WHO LOVES YOU AND WANTS TO BE WITH YOU)????

I can’t believe how quickly this summer has gone by.  I love the late spring and summer.  I love wearing warm weather clothes and being able to drive without worrying about a terrible, icy death.  I am not freezing and my skin is not like that of a decomposing corpse.  I exaggerate, but you get the idea.  I love warm weather!

By My Side

I walk this path of life in peace

each step upon this trail I take

keeping to worn ways of Truth

I follow Him whom all has made

~

For when I look about the trail

and see some others no longer there

my heart may start to ponder this

but I recall the One who cares

~

As long as He is by my side

and I abide within His will

I move along this way unmarred

His love within bids me be still

~

For He is love in all He does

and leaving’s not his way with me

Once He’s led me into his Light

I  belong to him eternally.

SEE WHAT WE MISS WHEN WE DON’T KEEP UP WITH OUR E-MAIL??? ‘COURSE…NONE OF MY FRIENDS GOT COAL…RIGHT??????

The Return of the Modern Philosopher

Sexy SantaHave you been a Naughty girl this year?  If you can prove it, Victoria’s Secret has a special deal for you.  On December 26th, anyone over the age of 18 who shows up at a Victoria’s Secret Store with the coal they received in their Christmas stocking, can exchange that coal for a free pair of panties.

Why the titillating spin on the Guns for Toys program often used by police at Christmas time to get weapons off the street?  “We thought it would be fun,” Greta von Perfektshun, the manager of the Victoria’s Secret Store at the Bangor Mall, told this Modern Philosopher.  “So much emphasis is put on being Nice this time of year, and we think the women who are Naughty deserve some reward, too.”

Christmas Stocking with coalAll the coal collected will be donated to local homeless shelters and orphanages to provide heat for the less fortunate this winter. …

Guest Blogger: Mayor McCheese Wants Fries With That!

I HOPE THE NATIONAL STRIKERS DON’T HIT HIS PLACE…!

The Return of the Modern Philosopher

Mayor_McCheeseWhile Austin in on vacation, friends of the blog will be posting in his place. Today’s Guest Blogger is Mayor McCheese, fast food icon and front runner to be the next Governor of Maine.

Good day, Modern Philosophers!  It is a beautiful Summer’s day in Maine, and it looks like August is going out in style!

I am honored to be your Guest Blogger today, and want to thank Austin for giving me the opportunity to talk to you and tell you a little something about myself.

Don’t worry.  I promise this is not going to be a political plug.  This is a comedy blog, not a soapbox.  Now who’s having a wonderful Friday?  Come on, folks…I can’t hear you!

One of the reasons Austin and I get along so well is our shared love of movies.  That became quickly apparent when I made an obscure reference to “The Sure…
