Why I think what I think: CCTV

You know when you can feel that something is wrong, but you’re not sure what it is, and you’re even less sure what to do about it?
That’s how I feel about society at the moment. I hate the fact that the UK has the most amount of CCTV per head than any other country, but the fact remains it seems to be working. So then I try to work out what exactly my problem with CCTV is, I remember something someone said in New Tricks, a cold-case detective show, a while back:
“Within 20 years, the UK could be a complete nanny state. Everything we say or do will be monitored and if we make one step out of line we will be caught on it.”
“What’s the problem, if you’re not doing anything wrong?”
“That depends on who is deciding what’s right and what’s wrong.”
