DIY- The Crop Top

NICELY CROPPED!!!!

This DIY is nothing new, and pretty self explanatory, but I’d figure I should better get a go at making a few before it gets too cool to wear them comfortably around here. This has pretty much been a uniform of mine for these hot summer days.

Crop tops are EVERYWHERE. I’ve seen every style but I’ve rounded up a few of my absolute favorites. I’m not into showing too much belly if I can help it, so high waisted skirts and pants are my go-tos for styling this look.
I liked the appearance of a regular top with just a bit of crop, so I went to thrift store browsed around, and found a  velvety leopard top I fell in love with. Perfectly cropable for my picky crop style. haha
(totally going to crop some oxfords/button downs and a long sleeve, absolutely a must-do. They’ll be joining the closet…

Breeding Red-Heads

I CAN’T BELIEVE THE GUY WOULD SAY THAT!!!!

Marissa

I love having red hair. But there are times when I wish it wasn’t quite so unusual. No one walks up to other girls and says, “Wow, your hair is brunette” or “Your hair is so blond.” As if I didn’t already know I have red hair. Hair stylists tell me they have clients who would kill for my hair color (which is kinda creepy if you think about it– red hair isn’t that amazing).

The most awkward comments are those about how rare red hair is becoming. The first one I remember happened when I was only seven or eight years old and an elderly couple told my red-haired sister and me that we needed to marry red-headed men so we could preserve the red-head population. I’ve heard these types of comments several times since then, but the most awkward has to be the one we received last week.

Poem: Life Shapes You

LIFE DOES INDEED SHAPE US….BUT WHO SHAPES LIFE (GOD KNOWS!) !

Mandibelle16

Life shapes you.
It molds, it beholds a person still forming.
In a variety of ways it kills you inside, be still as it fills you, you do not die…
Life shapes you, and you haven’t a choice how malleable you are.
You can live with the changes, the bitter exchanges; life is a stranger
It makes a white web of dew drops flow through you like tear drops
Life is web of disasters, reactive or be proactive, you must live
To forge through the jungles, the brick walls, the barriers ahead
Injury is injust, but nothing is just, it’s the laws of nature you know
Survive, revive the fire that fuels the ether of your soul
Be a stranger in the land, be a friend, be a teller of stories
Through stories we live, write the tale, write the book
Carry the history of the world on your shoulders…

BIG QUESTION (FOR ADULTS)

BIG QUESTION (FOR ADULTS)

If he had a lad or lass,

The question might very well pass…

When in their teens,

What do these words mean?

Could he explain without being crass??

Speaking of these feelings inside,

Will this turmoil never subside…

It’s getting so hard

Not to hide in our yard,

Stay at home, never going outside?

Do men have to control always

From the smallest titillation the craves…

Are women the same,

Playing the game…

Giving into the loudest of raves?

His son and daughter know,

There is no way he can show…

Them all his knowledge

Despite his college,

Some day he must let them go.

Would they listen anyway

To what the “old man” would say…

Their buddies and friends

Where each attends

Want them to investigate the fray.

As adults we keep learning

The best way for that inner burning…

To find expression

In art or transgression,

While in their graves, are our forebears turning?

SOOOOOOOO LONG, IT’S BEEN GOOD TO BLOG YOU!

SOOOOOOOOOOO LONG, IT’S BEEN GOOD TO BLOG YOU!

More than one blogging friend

With basic WordPress called an end…

I can’t reblog

Their financial cog,

The sponsors wouldn’t win.

At least their blogs I read,

Don’t have any financial seed…

It’s okay to be

Mercenary.

But I miss my closeness to the deed.

(if that makes any sense?)
