THE BIBLE MENTIONS THE IMPORTANT STUFF!
The Book of Acts contains a few references to fornication but all of them are on connection with the Jerusalem Council in Acts chapter 15 and then a report of that council in Acts 21. The issue at stake was what should be the obligations of the Gentiles believers coming to Christ. Part of this involved the idea of worship of God and the Judaizers who were asking new believers to circumcise themselves to being part of the Jewish faith as well and Christians. Paul opposed this and in the end the council at Jerusalem created a list of four things that the new Gentile believers should abstain from and on this list is ‘fornication’. This is probably used in its broadest sense but there is a more specific possibility which is the specific practice of temple prostitution. This would make sense seeing the other three items on this list deal specifically with idolatry and other pagan worship practices.
