GETTING YOUR ATTITUDE RE-COLORED AFTER A BLOW-OUT GAME IN THE STOMACH…!!!!

Baydreamer

Tears fall into a pool
on my pillow
while my mind attempts
to join my body
for an evening of rest

It’s not the best night
for a mutual agreement

Instead, my stomach
entertains a live
basketball game
where thoughts dribble
and strategy is weak

The score, you ask?
It’s looking like a blowout
not in my favor

but I now see the sun
peeking into a new day
I’ve made an appointment
to get my attitude colored

I believe highlights of
optimism would be an
appealing change

then I’ll start to pave
a new path and
be on my way

Hi Jonathan, thanks so much for reblogging my poem and sorry for the late reply. We’ve been getting our daughter ready to move into her college apt, which we just did today…thus, the poem..it’s exciting and emotional! 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate you sharing! I will catch up on your blog tomorrow, but I wanted to acknowledge your kindness tonight! Have a wonderful evening, Lauren

THAT’S OKAY, Lauren…If my wife and I had children we’d probably be doing the same thing! I lost my home connection a while ago, so I can’t respond to anything after 11:30 pm, or so, on Friday until whatever time I can get on a computer on Monday…mostly around now! No more posting at 3 am on a Saturday or Sunday morning (although I can’t break the habit of often writing at that hour?. Thank you for being one of my “close inner circle”. I so much enjoy your insight…and attention! 🙂
