SIGNS IT “AIN’T SUMMER” ANYMORE

SIGNS IT “AIN’T SUMMER” ANYMORE

It was nearly December by calendar day,

The duck pond was missing the water fountain spray…

Nearly all warmly dressed

No figure expressed,

Me-thought winter was going to stay.

And then, a Chinook’s warming breeze,

Fooled everyone, opened buds on trees…

Folks lounged around in light jackets

With MP-3 rackets,

Until a sudden cold snap brought all to their knees!

So folks, as it were, were caught with “pants down,”

Shivering as they warmed up and trees turned brown…

The moral of the story

Isn’t always with glory,

Winter’s a tricky monkey, if you let your guard down!
