CHAPLAIN TO THE MENTALLY ILL.
My Dad, the Methodist preacher,
Was an intuitive teacher…
His flock was varied
And not all carried
The ability to get every feature.
–
He’d use a Bible verse twice,
And both messages would be nice…
‘Bout cedar waxwings
And common things,
Helping to break the ice.
–
The simplest subjects can reach,
When God’s love one will teach…
His loving way
Finds faith to stay,
Whomever may–for each!
–Jonathan Caswell
Wonderful poem and tribute to your dad. I liked the cedar waxwings!

We had bushes up near the back of the Hospital parking lot with red berries—that Dad observed trying to gobble up—like crows stuffing their beaks with every last stale cracker they can fit…then dropping some as they fly off!!!!
