THE WATER’S DONE GONE!

GLAD SOMEBODY COMPLAINED!!!!

OUR POETRY CORNER

THE WATER’S DONE GONE!

In the afore-mentioned company,

Quite nameless but flooded yearly….

The men’s room is dry

Someone heard the cry,

And fixed waters running so free.

Our thanks to those maintenance guys

Who may have been surprised

No-one had complained

About toilets drained

For a year but just rolled their eyes.

Now I know that a word indirect,

While still not the best has effect…

The themed refrain,

“YES, PLEASE DO COMPLAIN,”

Has more influence than we’d expect.

The end of our story, the chance

To no longer sit in wet pants…

The grout’s even dry

And now we know why,

If only sooner we’d given them the chance!

Watkins Glen, NY

NEXT TIME i GO OUT THAT WAY—I WANT HER TO BE MY GUIDE!!!!

DSC_0624

I’m going to be totally honest and say Matt and I didn’t do as much hiking and exploring the great outdoors while camping this time around. We spent our first two nights in Watkins Glen State Park, and the following two nights in Taughannock Falls State Park. We were both pretty disappointed in Watkins Glen State Park. I think the Bruce kind of ruined everything for us. We just kept comparing the two, and well, State/Provincial Parks just can’t compare to the natural beauty of a National Park.  We were not close to any body of water in Watkins Glen, and you could literally hike about 20 mins to the village. Which ended up being fine, as we spent a lot of time exploring the small villages around the Finger Lakes. These towns/villages have the most insanely beautiful and historical homes. I would kill a man just…

GOOD STUFF USED FOR BAD

ANYBODY WITH ME HERE????

OUR POETRY CORNER

GOOD STUFF USED FOR BAD

Peer pressure is useful and mighty
For all races, even the “whitey’s”
So what I may say
May give me away,
Though the message be from the Almighty.

Each of us has a peer group to follow
With self views in which we can wallow,
But step out of line…
Betray your own kind…
Meet reaction divisive not shallow.

A crisis in identity
Is threatened when one wants freed
From stereotype
And cultural stripe
To fulfill their own wish to be.

A need to belong is God-given
That old nature wants us be riven
By needs to belong
Rejecting the song
That we would like to be living.
