THAT SUDDEN FEAR

THAT SUDDEN FEAR

When driving the highway, dear,

I’m gripped with that sudden fear…

Ambulance flying

For whom is it crying,

It brings out a hanging tear.

If it is from my town

I’m tempted to turn around…

“Nine-one-one” call-ins

After a falling,

Are normal for the apartment-bound.

Our apartments have seen them a lot,

Our complex surely has got…

It’s elderly

And disabled gentry

Who often get into a spot.

My wife has been known to fall,

Sometimes barely stand at all…

I worry for her

And at times would prefer

Someone there to help with it all.
