A COMFORTING PLACE

THERE’S ALWAYS ROOM/ TIME FOR CHURCH!!!!

OUR POETRY CORNER

A COMFORTING PLACE

This Sunday I went to church

While the wife stayed home in her chair…

Not often will she come with me,

The effort costs so dear.

A close friend of Diana and I

Insisted on an embrace

Before service began,

As an act of Jesus’ grace.

The message spoke of EGO,

When Pastor looked straight at me…

As he often does when he wants to gauge

All parts of the sanctuary.

Friends pledged prayers for Diana,

And some even for me…

For I’m the one who stands with her

Through all uncertainty.

We prayed for/with each other,

Rejoicing in new births…

Prayed for the sick and lonely

And got our blessings’-worth.

I asked for help and got it

And got to give some too…

Soaking up the Word and Spirit at church

Gives us all the strength to  get through.
