Watkins Glen Waterfalls New York

A part of the Finger Lakes region of New York, and located just outside of the Village of Watkins Glen, New York is Watkins Glen State Park. Located just south of Seneca Lake,  the State Park itself is once of the most impressive an beautiful of all the State Parks in New York, and Ranks among the highest visited parks in the United States and the world.

Like so many other State and National Parks located in the northernmost states of the United States, Watkins Glen State Park was formed over many years by erosion from the moving and melting of glaciers. The runoff from the glaciers cut through this area, mostly by feeding rushing waters into the Glen Creek. These waters cut through rock and deepened the Seneca Valley, and left behind gorgeous waterfalls and interestingly sculptured rock formations and landscapes.
