ONCE WE GET THERE

ONCE WE GET THERE…

I’ll be fine, I said,

With enough time in bed…

With six hour’s driving

I won’t be thriving,

But aching and sore in the head.

Long trips have begun

To be struggles from hour “one”…

The driving leg

Starts to beg

For another day for it to be done.

Becomes a time of stress,

Not dealt with well I guess…

Some trips I

Go awry

And get in an awful mess!

Praying for traveling mercies

Essential when one hurries…

Arrival before dark

By earlier embark,

Is harder facing flurries.

Once there I will be fine,

Till we head back at leaving time…

Then I will push

To get us to “mush”

And get going down the line!
