HURRY UP AND WAIT!

HURRY UP AND WAIT!

Those wheels grind slowly,

Not fast enough for me…

Spent a whole day

In a good way

Waiting a Nurse to see.

Awaiting an evaluation

Of my conditional situation…

For therapy and healing

Progress revealing,

As needed in my present location.

One wag said I’m back from the dead.

At least I don’t look it, I said…

The thing that was rotten

Pathology has gotten,

No jar to put by my bed!

Spooky Style

FIND ME SOME OF THEM CAT EARS….CAN’T FIT THE SHOES–NOT ON MY RIGHT FOOT, ANYWAY!

THE CHIC BROWN CHICK

Boo! Halloween is creeping up on us which means it’s crunch time to come up with the perfect costume. But instead of buying a prepackaged one from a regular old store or making your own ( which can be difficult for the lazy people out there like me 🙂 ) ; why not build your own by shopping for some totally fearful fashion accessories? Chic cat ears, scary yet sophisticated shoes, & marvelous monster bags- the perfect costume awaits you and your closet. Rock this October 31st like a glamour ghoul! Stay chic 🙂

LA HUESITA (Calaverita literaria)

FASHIONABLE, AIN’T SHE….?

La huesita

Y se murió su marido

y se quedó embarazada;

y vestidita de viuda

y con la cara lavada.

Y necesitaba un bolso

y no tenía diez pesos:

y todo se quedó en bolsa

y así se fue de paseo…

Y presumió de pamela

y con puntillas al vuelo;

y volantes al donaire

y así, superó los duelos.

Y con rebozo, solita

y sin marido en la cama;

y además, con chavo dentro

y ella… parece otra chava.

Y se arregló las pestañas

y ¿quién sabe? Está de ver;

y por algo tiene bolsa

y la ha de llenar ¿de qué…?

Y en busca de lo que sea

y abandonado su fiambre;

y su tripita crecida

y bailoteando el hambre…

Y sin lágrimas de hormiga

y sin más, la muy canalla;

i ncita a que la regalen

y la bolsa… se desmaya.

Y llena, llena hasta arriba

What Halloween Means To Me

YOU AND HERMAN….FROM HANDS ON MR. BOWIE….WOULD GET ALONG FINE…OR FIGHT OVER THE CHOCOLATE!!!

Glorious Results Of A Misspent Youth

Halloween comes once a year,
It’s not getting a fright I fear,
But rather the awful chore,
Of knocking on strange people’s doors.

Missing a warm home’s shelter,
Battling swarms of Annas and Elsas,
My kid’s costumes barely worn,
Yet cheaply made, already torn.

And what’s more, what really sucks,
I’m down about 100 bucks,
But to complain is crappy,
When my children are so happy.

And it will all be dandy,
If when they divide the candy,
They’re careful to oversee,
That all the chocolate goes to me.

I was dying.. & Ölüyordum…!! I miss you so much Murat Gögebakan

GOOD WISDOM IN VERSE….TO DIE FOR! 🙂

YA BAKİ ENTEL BAKİ

semras11

First I was dying to finish high school and start collage.

And then I was dying to finish collage and start working.

And then I was dying to marry and have children.

And then I was dying for my children to grow old enough for school

so I could return to work.

And then I was dying to retire.

And now I am dying… And suddenly I realize,

I forgot to live.

~~Anonymous

 And this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter – that is the [eternal] life, if only they knew.

Surat Al-`Ankabut [29:64] – The Noble Qur’an

semsem

Önce, liseyi bitirip üniversiteye girmek için ölüyordum;

Sonra, üniversite bitsin, işe başlayayım diye!

Derken, evleneyim, çocuklarım olsun diye ölmeye başladım…

Çocuklarım oldu, ‘ Ölürüm onlar için ’ diye düşünmeye başladım.

Büyüsünler, iyi yetişsinler diye ölümüne çalıştım;

An geldi, Ölürüm arkadaş emekli olmak…

HIATUS UNEXPECTED

HIATUS UNEXPECTED

(or…where I’ve been for a week and a half)

My hiatus unexpected

Was by my big toe directed…

While on a work round

My legs fell down,

My need needed to be dissected.

In ambulance eventually,

To hospital all agreed…

Big toe amputated,

It’s life prorated

As being no good to me.

Started treatment my self  then ignored,

Left it to rot to the core…

Infection set in

And I didn’t win,

Was left with a hole, nothing more.

From hospital to Rehab.

For a week or so to grab…

Some healing time

And therapy fine,

The nurses weren’t half-bad!

Yesterday I came home,

My wife is not alone…

Taken out the trash,

Consolidated cash

And learned…not to roam.

Gotta wait for the Visiting Nurses

By writing these tentative verses…

Evaluation

Of my situation

Before insurance opens its purses!

Unforseen experiences,

Puts minds through all tenses…

Ideas for a book

Began to cook,

Perhaps it will mend a few fences.
