Phase 2 Of Winter Storm Knife (3 iPad Images)

BRRRRRRRR! I WENT TO SCHOOL IN THE NEW YORK STATE SNOW BELT—-WE OFTER WERE BELTED! 🙂

Petals Unfolding

Friends, again I begin bringing to you the continuing story of what is transpiring here in Lancaster, NY. This storm now has a name … Winter Storm Knife. We have officially entered Phase 2. I am beginning to loose a sense of time, and this morning for the life of me, I could not remember what day it is today. I called my next door neighbor to see how they are doing and to ask her what the day is.

About a half an hour ago from this writing, I came in from walking outside 2 hours to get pictures and I am really having difficulty believing the amount of snow that is evident. Those photos will be coming to your throughout the day. But first, some facts ….

Temperatures have risen to the mid-20’s today. Overnight snow accumulation was about another foot. The winds last night were downright scary…

I’M MISSING SOMETHING?!?

I’M MISSING SOMETHING?!?

He bought himself a laptop,

Computer online–a gap-stop–

To get in the swing

Of frequent posting,

Being bored with his faucet’s drip-drop.

Twas part of a package deal,

Flash drive, printer…a steal(?)…

Til the look

Ay the startup book,

His rusty gears went in squeal!

Before he could really see,

A password he made out with glee…

Came bach with a grin

And couldn’t get in,

Will it reboot–we’ll sxee!

You Should Have Known

I SHOULD HAVE!!!!! 🙂

Glorious Results Of A Misspent Youth

She looks at her with weary eyes,
Impatient with her tears,
Foreboding signs, she had been warned,
It’s been building for years.

She tried to point out the red flags,
The hurtful words he used,
The many times he told her that,
He wasn’t in the mood.

She tries to be sympathetic,
How could she not have known,
She disperses one last Kleenex,
And says it time to go.

Her patient’s lack of perception’s
Such a disappointment,
But she has some time to relax,
Before her next appointment,

And so she reaches for her tea,
When her phone lights up,
Her husband says, “Late one tonight-
Honey, don’t wait up.”

This poem was inspired by a book of the same name by Jean Hanff Korelitz.

quotation: Don’t put money before everything else -Pope Francis

HEAR YE…..HEAR YE!!!!!!

Teacher as Transformer

quotation: Don’t put money before everything else -Pope Francis.

In the West, this is a hard concept to understand and grasp. We need money to live and perhaps even survive. What about when money becomes our raison d’etre? What happens when money takes over our lives and, for that matter, we obsess over one thing at the expense of living?

This is an open question we should live with, embrace, and explore daily. How does our living make the living of others better? There are no easy answers. In fact, there may not be an answer. Each time we explore this question, it may pose new questions.

THAT OLD FOOT-IN-MOUTH…

THAT OLD FOOT-IN-MOUTH…!

Not wanting to insult my friends,

To their anger I must make amends…

Not making clear

They were without peer,

Without them I’d be at loose ends!

Pardon me if I crawl to my cave,

Trying some discretion to save…

I am just that:

A big spoiled brat–

The worst kind of writing knave.

The ones of whom I wrote will never know

And they too, would angrily blow…

The ungrateful gall

I’d complain at all,

Some observations better off not shown!

Speaking of Man’s common nature,

I seem to elevate my stature…

This sorry young wag

Opened the wrong bag,

Giving proper appreciation its hiatus.

(To my greatest loss!!)
