VISIT TO THE DOCTOR
(in the form of haiku—more than one)
Surgeon saw my foot,
No runs…no holes…no errors…
Can shovel snow soon!
–
Snow and sleet descend,
Fear reawakened to drive…
Plow trucks out in force.
–
Agreeable nurses,
Meeting lots of nice faces…
Doctor says…now stop.
–
Own car must be cleaned,
Returning as wife’s chauffeur
No more: friend, will you?
–
Health insurance fades,
Peddling faster daily:
Discontinuous service.
–
Author hands out tomes
Company and smiles exchanged…
One was sold last year.
–
Nervousness returns,
Cookie binges resulting…
Blood sugar testing!
–
Gonna miss “his” nurses,
Evening young and shapely:
Hurries back to work!
–
Playing “Doctor Says,”
Last word has Primary Nurse…
Wound care’s successful?
