COULD I HAVE THIS DANCE

I never knew how to dance, until I learnt that
Words could dance upon a page
And what beautiful music they played.
A bubbling brook, the crackling of a campfire
The crickets echo in the night
And it doesn’t stop there.

Who’s to say what song is playing and where,
I may be doing the waltz, while you are twisting.

The smell of homemade bread and hot
Apple pie fresh out of the oven!
What it feels like to touch something
Hot for the first time.
How many licks are in a Lillypop.
What it’s like to sit by a campfire feeling
The warmth of the campfire while watching
The flames dance higher and higher!

Dancing my way through poetry,
Round and round the mulberry tree.
Duck, duck gray duck.
Ashes to ashes we all fall down.
Here we go round the merry go round…
