BROWN RICE AND KIELBASA

GOOD STUFF—PUT IT ON THE GROCERY LIST!

OUR POETRY CORNER

BROWN RICE AND KIELBASA

(See also BROWN RICE POSTLUDE)

Brown rice and kielbasa, such a great meal,

Just chunk kielbasa bite-sizeed…

Toss in whole-kernel corn for added appeal

And boil in a skillet till done.

My wife called it “fine” as she gave me the rest

For my supper  cuisine at work,

There’s lots left over, that I can attest…

It’s great stuff that I cannot shirk.

I’ll have it for supper and breakfast I think,

It’ll go good with milk I suppose…

But sooner or later all of it I will eat

And then this culinary chapter will close

(For a while, anyway!).

About Jonathan Caswell

Poet, author, servant of God the Heavenly father and the Lord Jesus Christ...working out his salvation with fear and trembling. - Not trusting in his own deeds, but depending totally upon the finished sacrificial work of Jesus Christ to be, by God's reckoning, a new creature, clothed in Christ's righteousness...which mortal humankind can never attain by their own weak efforts, apart from faith in Christ's work on our behalf. - College-educated, yet wise enough to see that what a man does will not be his ultimate identity nor affect how God sees him or her. - Called by God to do a very difficult thing...apart from God's grace, mercy and strength...to love the sinner (which we all--by nature--are) but hate the sin, which is only paid through Christ, God's Son, - My own God-given gift is that of being a Poet..showing that in all parts of life...God has a loving part in it...as hard as that is to always understand or perceive...given life's realities! Come join me on my journey of discovery?.

Hi Jonathan! Your poetry always brings a smile to my face. Thanks for visiting my portfolio site and inviting me to the the TEN SENTENCE LOVE POEM CHALLENGE. I am not a writer, as I am a visual artist, but I will enjoy reading all of the poems from the challenge. Thanks! Janell

OK, Jonathan. I will give it a try. Starting next week. My daughter is home from college this week, so I am busy spoiling her. 🙂 10 fairy sketches in 10 days. Thanks for the encouragement. I enjoy reading all your poems.
