A PART OF ME IN BINGHAMTON, NY

A PART OF ME IN BINGHAMTON, NY

Parts of me are in “Bingo-town”

Where I was mostly raised…

Although I’m not returning

I’ll remember it all of my days.

There’s blood in the breezeway of the house

Where we used to live…

A table saw met my finger

And I had the blood yo give!

I must has lost some coins

Into the sewer in town…

If they’re found you can have them

Colored thick green and brown!

In a school now demolished

I wrote my first poetry…

Buried somewhere under there

Is my notebook labeled messily.

All the air molecules I breathed,

You can have too…

I made clouds exhaling loud

Until I turned blue!

There may be some body fluids,

My nose ran constantly…

If in the lab they lead you to :”IT”**

Just chalk IT up to me!

–Jonathan Caswell

** Whatever great discovery “IT” turns out to be!

I sub-taught in Endicott, Binghamton,Endwell, Johnson City, Vestal,…and the Catholic schools—from about 1982 to 1984., living at home. There are even a few bloggers who BLOG about the place! I’ve featured a few of them…like when one visited the Psychiatric Center where my Dad worked….and for many years, the grounds of which my family lived within! 🙂
