Virtual Vitamins

Psalm 119:111 Your statutes are my heritage for ever;
they are the joy of my heart.

This brings to mind Jesus’ instructions to “Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” (Matthew 6:20) Physical treasure, inherited or otherwise, is temporary. However, when our focus is on God and what He provides, that is eternal. He does bless us physically, but that is an afterthought compared to the spiritual riches He has for us. The thing is, if our focus is on the physical, we are likely not even to recognize the spiritual riches. It is somewhat like art work that has monetary value only to the degree that people value it. On one level, the greatest paintings in history are no more than canvas (or wood, etc.) and pigment. Not a whole lot of value…
