In October, nineteen-ninety,

My Mother slipped away…

The tenth of October

Her “graduation” day.-

So many thoughts went through my head

Over these twenty-five years…

I think I’ve fought each battle twice,

As this day nears!

We were married barely one year

When Mom was ushered home…

Her cancer had invaded her brain,

Was in Hospice, at home.

My Dad was typing letters

As a tear formed from her eye…

Her spirit left her body with

A final soft sigh.
