I hated Erasmus! (My Erasmus Experience)



Okay, so I hated Erasmus….


3 Days in the crying started, but hey, that’s normal.
2 Weeks in the homesickness kicked in….again, normal.
1 Month in, desperately wanting to go home, and really having a hard time….not so normal…..how did this happen?!?!?

So, in 2014 I received the wonderful news, that I would be going on my Erasmus (study abroad) in Venice, Italy. I would get to travel by boat daily, eat my favourite kinds of food, study with excellent lecturers, meet new people, visit museums and see the art that has inspired me since I was little.
(Yes, most kids were playing on their bikes, while I was reading art books…sue me. )
While yes, I did get to experience all of this, I also experienced the negative sides to Erasmus, and for me, these negative aspects trumped the good ones.
