A Few Thoughts on Prayer

Firstly, prayer is important. Throughout the Bible, we are exhorted to bring our prayers, petitions, and praise to the Lord our God. We have confidence that He hears our prayers, petitions, and praise because Jesus is our mediator before the Throne of Grace (Hebrews 10:19-22). Additionally, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we pray, helping us in articulating our prayers and reassuring us that the Lord God knows what we are praying about, because Father, Son, and Spirit are One (Romans 8:26-27).
But, let us face it, we do have difficulty in praying, don’t we?
Why is that?
It may be sin, but let us put that idea to one side because I trust that you may already be addressing that as a very important area if we are going to maintain a healthy prayer relationship. The earlier Hebrews passage I mentioned addresses that issue.
