Related to the Macker family,
Uncle George and his daughter Elsie…
Milk they prized,
‘Though it set poor on unaccustomed tummies!
They slaughtered chicken and ham,
Processed each and some canned…
Veggies from the garden
Before the ground hardened,
Put up as much as they’d planned.
Dairy cows scared me away,
Heavy hooves and huge eyes in play…
Got to ride a horse–
A gentle one of course–
We city slickers could ride them that way!
