REUSE OF OLD MILLS

New England industry

Went South literally..

Then to Asia–

If that doesn’t faze ya–

Old mills still fed a need!

In the case of Barre, Mass.,

They needed to reuse the past…

With storage room

The mill found use soon,

In a different role than first cast.

Apartments and senior housing,

A few serve industry rousing…

Economies

To realities,

That architects and community espousing!

My favourite Zinnia and the Pussy Bow blouse

OUR FAVE, TOO!

with my hands - Dream

This time I want to show you two of my favourite self-made garments. I already mentioned previously that I have made several skirts using Colette Zinnia pattern. This is my favourite one for winter – in fact, I’m wearing it right now!

I have used this tweed fabric a lot, since it is super comfortable and doesn’t wrinkle easily. It also drapes well, as you can see. To make most of the fabric that I had I made the pleats in the pattern a bit deeper. Then I wanted to add something extra by sewing a black sating piping to the edge of the waistband and attaching a tab at the center front.

I have been looking for a perfect pattern for this dragonfly crepe for a while. I already tried making a short sleeved blouse using another pattern but it did not succeed very well. This time I used

SPRINGY VIBES

GOOD VIBES!

paulahandrickblog.com

Hooray spring has sprung here in Germany – well at least for about two weeks lately. Because it’s been snowing like crazy the last days here and we’re having end of April by the way.. Pepsi Focuses On ‘Guilt-free’ Beverages, Yet More Research Casts Shadow Over Diet Sodas

A LATE RULE CHANGE?

How he wishes to change the rules,

A change reserved for fools…

Too late to give in

To physical sin,

He lost his working tools.

No wrench or claw hammer,

To build a lofty manor…

But in daydreams

Impossible schemes

Are caught and tossed in like manner.

Despite his grumblings shallow,

He’s been blessed more than many fellows…

A like full of risk

Reasons to exist,

By any accounts he should be more mellow!

As difficult times increase,

His dreams for himself decrease…

Day by day

Is the only way,

As strivings after selfishness slowly cease!
