A “SOUND” DISCUSSION ABOUT THE EFFECTS OD SCALE ON OUR FULL-SCALE EARS! 🙂
Over the past year I have begun to acquire factory sound-equipped locomotives in N scale and I have to say- I am impressed. I have two locomotives from Bachmann, the Berkshire and the Pennsylvania Railroad class K4 and one from Broadway Limited, the PRR class M1.
My layout does not have multiple running loops, so if I rarely have two running at the same time, and I think this helps my enjoyment of the sound. I have found that sound brings another dimension to the railroad, giving it more life and realism than without it. I can also tolerate a locomotive running for a long period of time without tiring of it, which has been a complaint of many modelers.
