Small short railroads like I,

Easy to grasp for this guy…

Profitable ones keep running

While  the failing are chumming

The waters for someone to buy!

Many my favorites hauled salt,

From the mine or where it was bought…

Oft the last loads

Hauled by these roads,

Before some called it a halt.

Railroads with one or two

Major shippers often fall  through…

Especially when

That shipper is gone,

Red ink makes people blue!
