ALCOs in seventy-six,
in Canada doing their tricks…
Most are gone
As time moved on,
Museums had the remaining picks!
The ALCO locomotive in front is a “covered wagon” with a full carbody and structural elements integrated into its sides and frame The unit behind it (also an ALCO) is a “hood unit” with all its structural strength in the frame–the hood being merely a cover over the engine and other components. ACTUALLY, both of this locomotives were built by the Montreal Locomotive works (MLW) under license from ALCO.
