This spring has had its challenges and and though I have completed a few projects, non has been really satisfying. I didn’t do anything that challenged my capacity and my projects was on the smaller side, but it still didn’t work. Sometimes you’re just not up to it.


One project was to make a classic hat of with a turned up brim. I travel a lot and hats are the perfect easy to carry, mindless knit.  A lot of new and old knitting patterns of this type is available. My favorites mostly from WWII “knitting for soldiers” pamphlets. I tested one fairly modern that ended up looking like a mushroom, not what I was looking for. Realized that the result is very dependent on what yarn you use in combination with how tight you knit and its easy to make it to slouchy. Now I’ve started on developing the pattern myself…
