Not since the Johnstown flood,

And none of our church group would…

Go to help

Dig those folks out,

I was the one who would!

So  hard with a force of one,

To dig out a valley’s mud run…

Was a consideration,

I gave up–being alone!

So glad that others these days,

Rush out to help unafraid…

At church long ago

The whole group said “no”,

No sacrifice was in fact paid!
