Cats and Threads

The long planned pullover for my boyfriend is finally almost ready, and all pieces are blocked. All it still requires is sewing up and knitting the neckband – sounds simple, right?

Not at all. I’ve never experienced such a mental block with any project before. Each time I prepare everything for seaming, I spend a lot of time worrying, thinking and analyzing, only to put it away in the end. Ouch…

Buttonside Jumper

Cats and Threads

My Buttonside Alpaca Jumper is ready! With my enhanced knitting speed and terrible insomnia over the past 10 days, I’ve been able to finish and block it, sew the buttons, and move on to the next projects almost effortlessly. And thankfully today is my last steroid day, as I’m really exhausted from the lack of sleep and unable to focus on anything, which is particularly problematic when I need to work. But certainly the medications did their job, and apart from all these weird side effects I’m doing so much better than ever in the last couple of months that I shouldn’t even really complain. Why are we to enter the gates of the Lord with thanksgiving and his courts with praise?  One reason given in this psalm is, “for the Lord is good” (Psalm 100:5).

There is a song you may have heard that has the line: “Life is…

Eighteen work days yet,

Labor for years and set…

Till a shut down

Took his crown,

Which he’ll re-evaluate.

All production-related

Work will close out as stated…

They’d enough time

Another job to find,

But glad they participated.

Seventeen days or less,

The place fills with quietness…

Not noisy now

Less take out chow,

The restaurants orders around here less.

OOTD : Cable Knit Sweater

Style As Needed

I’ve always considered a great cable knit sweater to be a fall and winter style necessity for every closet. As simple as it sounds, a white or black cable knit sweater with a pair of jeans and booties is one of my favorite looks.

With Halloween quickly approaching, I thought it would be a great time to get my skull scarf out and use it as a layering piece for this perfect white cable knit from SheIn that I recently received from the brand. This sweater is 100% cotton, soft, spacious, comfy and every other positive adjective I can think of (yes, cotton for me is positive because it could be acrylic which is a negative adjective as far as materials go). It is by far, my favorite piece I’ve ever gotten from SheIn. This sweater will get worn many times this upcoming winter. It can be worn to work…
