Another Christmas Day,
He almost wishes it away…
That he fears
His love’s disappointment displays!
Once again, her gift’s last minute,
Not meaning offense–his foot’s in it…
A struggling year–
Supposed to have cheer–
Another instance his fault, she’ll spin it!
‘Tween budget and depression he’s in hoc,
Again beaten by the clock…
Purchases during years
Are not Christmas cheers,
Excuses considered as further crock!
Expected from this Poet,
A piece to let her know that…
Their love’s viable,
Not being stale old hat!
His spirit compared to hers is rather poor,
Looking far more selfish for sure…
Depressed and caught
And likely as not
Facing words that he really doesn’t care!
