In Central Southern New York,

A short line’s hard at work…

No potential profit they’ll shirk!

When the Cayuga Salt mine lost rail

Access they daren’t fail…

Their salt trucks rallied

In Newark valley,

Loading salt railcars. O & H hauled out by rail!

They’ve hauled pulpwood and scrap,

Natural gas on tap…

Bulk transfer

Is what they prefer,

They dare not take to long a nap!

Newark Valley is the next town up the line from Owego and Flemingville, New York state–that is, north of!  Picture is of a southbound O&H train at Flemingville, NY
