Musings Of An Autistic Mind

Too hard on myself

Or not enough

Memories of beatings for failure

Torment whenever criticism

I accept it, but also the recurring pain

And again I write to remember

What I forgot to forget

They say it was only funny

But I find it to be more, much more

I shouldn’t expect them to understand

The scars last a lifetime, but they’re invisible

To everyone but you and me

I run to escape the misery

Jet black crows caw to summon the darkness

The road is barren and well traveled

These feet know the way

Empty corses of dreams long lost

Partially breathing lungs trapped

Between a divided heart
