DRIVING WE NEEDN’T DO

Signing up for a whole year,

Of delivering my dear…

And yours truly

Will duly,

Reduce our car’s wear and tear.

Trusting others with the drive,

A hangup I hope won’t revive…

Men self-sufficient

Like me must admit

To another.s help to survive.

Less and less doing for self,

A hard admission of dearth…

Must identity

Of whom one’s being,

Be tied to efforts of self?

My wife says I’m a man…

Despite  less things I can…

Do for her and I–

But our Lord identifies

Me as a vital part of His Plan!

Nor yet am I dead,

I must agree with my Head…

God’s very view

Is that I’m valued,

Who am I to reject what God’s said?
