Flared pants and how I wear them …

I’ve never stopped wearing wide-legged pants because my style has a retro bent to it, but they have only recently become a trend for the mainstream.

As with all of the clothes that I acquire, I prefer them to be versatile and be able to be worn across a variety of contexts …

These are denim, high-waisted and wide-legged and have decorative plackets with big red buttons.

I like to wear them with cropped jackets, including the tartan one shown, this cobalt and black jacket and of course a black one is always effective.

These pants are a recent purchase and I know I will get the wear out of them because they’re an excellent colour and pattern choice. The vertical stripes work well, although the jury is still out as to whether they contribute to a slimming silhouette.

I’ve worn them with a velvet short-sleeved jacket over a mutton…
