Men and women want only power,

Over subjects o’er whom they can glower…

Losing parties’ hissy fits

Paid bullies offenses commit,

Emotions run high every hour.

One poete friend to me silence has given,

Too busy fomenting hate toward Trump he’s given…

He’s been a firebrand

We disagree as to stand

I didn’t think our civil tone had been riven!-

Another prominent and gifted friend of mine,

We have our differences but we find…

We can visit free

Of political hate repartee,

Appreciating each others work to which we are not blind

(This means you–Holly!)

A lot of peace the political world hasn’t got,

As differences are codified and fought…

By volunteer jack-booted thugs

Using any way to pull out rugs,

Drummed up into ager quick and hot.

God-fearing folk should recognize the theme,

Mass uprising is a power hunger’s dream…

Know ye from the Lord,

In the power of His word,

That no one who hates his brother will by God be seen!

1st John 4: 19-21 says,

No hater toward his neighbor in Heaven stays…

He or she is a liar

Subject to hell fire,

Unless they repent of their hateful ways!

About Jonathan Caswell

Poet, author, servant of God the Heavenly father and the Lord Jesus Christ...working out his salvation with fear and trembling. - Not trusting in his own deeds, but depending totally upon the finished sacrificial work of Jesus Christ to be, by God's reckoning, a new creature, clothed in Christ's righteousness...which mortal humankind can never attain by their own weak efforts, apart from faith in Christ's work on our behalf. - College-educated, yet wise enough to see that what a man does will not be his ultimate identity nor affect how God sees him or her. - Called by God to do a very difficult thing...apart from God's grace, mercy and strength...to love the sinner (which we all--by nature--are) but hate the sin, which is only paid through Christ, God's Son, - My own God-given gift is that of being a Poet..showing that in all parts of life...God has a loving part in it...as hard as that is to always understand or perceive...given life's realities! Come join me on my journey of discovery?.

Having friends at all points along the political spectrum, I see no reason to excoriate or reject someone who likes any given political figure. I do draw the line, though, at ANY unprovoked acts of violence towards others.
