My wife led the way

In explaining Veteran’s Day…

To our driver

She in her livelier

Manner about her Dad’s Army days.

My Dad stayed at home,

“Four-F” worked at the Whitin Machine Shop—skills honed…

Steam turbines

Made for the front lines,

He did what he could at home.

I don’t begrudge my wife,

Her pride for her Dad’s life…

Serving with General Patton

North Africa, Italy and The Bulge to flatten,

Fighting for Liberty’s life!

Concluding her revelry,

My one chance to add my story…

My Dad wrought

Things that her Dad fought

with for the victory!
