A Fabulous Green Dress—a Donna Does Dresses reblog!

Fabulous Green Dress!!

SEPTEMBER 11, 2019

Fitted and Flattering!!

These days I don’t always worry about wearing what’s flattering but I do wear what I feel like.

For me fashion, or more succinctly style, is about having fun and not just wearing what may be considered flattering.

See my discussion of this here https://donnadoesdresses.com/2018/07/26/flatter-or-fatter/

Having said that, this dress is flattering and for me ticks all the right boxes.

Starting with its jewel green colour which lifts my fair complexion and immediately makes me feel good as soon as I do up the zip.

It’s made from a heavy, excellent quality jersey fabric that skims the body and doesn’t cling to it!!

Getting it all Right!!

This dress does pretty much get it all right: colour is great, fabric is fab and then add to that the sweet scoop neckline, longer sleeve and little frill on the side of the waist – an area I try to emphasise because it’s a figure strength for me.

I wear this dress all year round – with bare legs during our long, hot summers or with opaque tights, booties and a leather jacket in winter.

It was a mild late winter’s day so I paired the dress with ladder lace tights and black heels.

Confidence and Care!

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt over a lifetime it’s that confidence works miracles.

If you want to wear something then go ahead and wear it with confidence.

No matter your size or your looks, there will always be people who have something negative to say about you for any number of different reasons – when I was just a slip of a girl and very young and about 10 kilograms or more lighter than I am now I used to get comments about being heavy so who knows what’s in people’s heads?

And for that matter who cares?

It did used to upset me at the time but my Mum, God love her and may she Rest In Peace, would quickly put it all in perspective and tell me they were just jealous – and she was probably right!!

Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the web and I’d love to hear what your thoughts are on dressing to flatter in the comments below or leave a like or follow.

About Jonathan Caswell

Poet, author, servant of God the Heavenly father and the Lord Jesus Christ...working out his salvation with fear and trembling. - Not trusting in his own deeds, but depending totally upon the finished sacrificial work of Jesus Christ to be, by God's reckoning, a new creature, clothed in Christ's righteousness...which mortal humankind can never attain by their own weak efforts, apart from faith in Christ's work on our behalf. - College-educated, yet wise enough to see that what a man does will not be his ultimate identity nor affect how God sees him or her. - Called by God to do a very difficult thing...apart from God's grace, mercy and strength...to love the sinner (which we all--by nature--are) but hate the sin, which is only paid through Christ, God's Son, - My own God-given gift is that of being a Poet..showing that in all parts of life...God has a loving part in it...as hard as that is to always understand or perceive...given life's realities! Come join me on my journey of discovery?.
