My flower so dark

Dull in the light of noon

Afraid that the sun glows better,

Has anyone told you how,

You glow in the mid of night?

That you look like a smiling evil

Trying to change my mind

Sometimes, I’m swept by your charm.

And I lick your sap like a starving marara

Then I cry at the sweetness of it,

When I know it’s poison to me,

And I don’t want to die
