Mirage (a dream)

Sui Generis

Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream? ~Edgar Allan Poe, A Dream Within A Dream.

Like fleeting thoughts
On ephemeral nights,
Like icicle tears,
And blinding lights.
Like molten silver,
Solid gold,
Like dying warm,
And living cold,
Like burning fires,
Embers dead,
Like perfect lies,
And things unsaid.

They say:
Humans come and humans go,
Good times too and strife,
But what if we haven’t woken up
from a dream we call our life?
