The genuine daughter is a sequel of The Nonentity ( flying man) but it can be read as standalone too .

This book is a story of a girl Dannie and how her hard work & determination as a chef led to her owning a restaurant by twenty-five. She has a lovely life with her husband Todd but soon she discovers her hidden powers of flying and a lot more.  

Flying man is her dad in this book and he trained her so that she can use her powers to help the people.She was just hitting her stride, balancing work and family, when three supernatural events within a couple weeks make her question her normal life. Dannie soon learns this is a fight she must win because she received her gifts for a unique purpose.
