I just want to say at the outset that I’m well aware of the fact that some of the history and the basis for the holiday involving the Pilgrims and the Native Americans is extremely problematic. For us, in our family, we focus on togetherness and sharing what we are thankful for. This year, I spent some time sharing what I’m thankful for each day during the month of November using this calendar:
One thing I have learned over the last few years of living with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer is that if you look for something to be thankful for, you will find it, and the more you practice an attitude of gratefulness, the better your overall outlook will be. When you focus on being grateful, when you focus on the good, the negative things just aren’t as much of a focus.
