From The Darkness Into The Light

December 13th

Sustenance of the righteous

Not with an army, not with force, but with my Spirit.

Zechariah 4: 6

God’s Word, prayer, and the Holy Spirit work together for the good of God’s servants.The special part of the Spirit is to give everything necessary to sustain the righteous.

The Holy Spirit is called “the Spirit of Christ” and “the Spirit of God” (Rom. 8: 9).He can be called by either of the two titles because He is in the Trinity and proceeds from the Father in the name of Christ (cf. Jn. 14:26).

The apostle Paul knew the Holy Spirit as his teacher, intercessor, guide, source of power, and almighty provider.That is the Spirit for all believers.Paul’s confidence in knowing that everything works for good (Rom. 8:28) was based on the provision of the Spirit, who “helps us in our weakness; for what we should ask as is appropriate…
