Modeling a fictional railroad,
But upstream and downstream showed…..
Two diverging ways
Near a church where one prays,
Suggestive of earlier things!
–
Stone chapel divides the two routes,
One track dead ends–beyond of no use—
A three track interchange
In front arranged,
Where rolling stock can be picked up by the 0-5-0* and exchanged!
–
Whole thing is on solid ground,
The back track the tail of a run-around….
Slightly obscured
By the chapel observed,
Examples all over can be found!

Jonathan Caswell
*the “0-5-0” is using one’s hand (four fingers plus the thumb) to pick up rolling stock and replace it with another. Also known as “fiddling”.
The author apologizes for forgetting his own limerick rhyme scheme! Must be getting late! 😀

No worries Jonathan. I was too busy absorbing the scene your words were laying out.
