Body positivity and why we need to talk about it

A few days ago, I was talking to my husband about why people are sometimes quick to judge others by appearances. ‘Appearance’ as the word denotes is how we appear, but is appearance truly all that makes us what we are? The first thing that you see about a person is how he or she looks and dresses, but is that a complete guide for anyone to come to a judgement? Certainly not!

Our discussion ended with us concluding two aspects of the act of body shaming – first, that it is rude and another – that if someone is body shaming you, the real problem lies in the mind of the shamer, and not you.
