We have different chapter numbers, but it says that we are commanded in the 14th day of the first month, which is the month of Nissan to celebrate the exodus from Egypt and liberation from slavery by eating unleaved bread, and “no leaven should be found in your house for 8 days.” Therefore, we spend a month brtween Purim and Passover thoroughly cleaning our houses of all leaven, including stray crumbs under couches, etc. Cats get special food that contains no grain which has a potential to be leavened if water introduced to it. In short, I am horrendously busy already!
